What is on this page
“Agent” covers a wide range of projects: frameworks for building assistants that plan and call tools, coding agents that work inside a terminal or an editor, runtimes that sandbox them, and collections of instructions (“skills”) that change how an existing agent behaves. All of them are here when they appear in one of GitHub’s trending lists and match the rule described in the questions below.
Reading a fast-moving category
This is the busiest category on GitHub trending at the moment, and star counts in it grow unusually fast. Many repositories are days or weeks old. The creation date and the date of the last push on each repository page help separate a maintained tool from a demo that was popular for a weekend. Skill collections are documents rather than software: read what they instruct an agent to do before installing them.
